Can you believe it’s time to roll out the new name for Open Space Meats? After 11 wonderful years of being Open Space Meats, we’ve made the decision to take on a name that better exemplifies who we are! And as Marie Kondo says, “Keep only those things that bring you joy.” And if something’s gotta go? “Don’t forget to thank it before saying good-bye.” So this is our thank you and good bye letter to Open Space Meats….

Dear Open Space Meats,
I still remember the first day we met. It was April 2006, you were Seth’s 30th birthday present! We used $2,000 and purchased our first few head of cattle. We made our first grass fed beef sale on September 11 of the same year…and boom, Open Space Meats was born. We’ve been through so much together, so many ranch properties, delivery vehicles, and amazing customers. In the beginning we knew each customer by name and Seth & I were able to deliver meat personally to each of their homes. It was so exciting to watch you grow from infancy, into the difficult toddler years! We went through droughts, fires, and other experiences that helped grow us into who we are today! We truly lived, “what doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger!” And here we are, perhaps we’re in our teen years now…we are the second oldest grass fed beef company in California and we’re so grateful to who you, Open Space Meats, have made us become. And now….it’s with great joy and a touch of sadness that we say goodbye Open Space Meats, thank you for all the joy you’ve brought us and everything you’ve done for us! You’ve left big footsteps for MARIPOSA RANCH to follow in!

Mariposa County is where we’ve always raised our beef, it’s located in the beautiful foothills of California, right below Yosemite National Park. We have ranches specifically in Catheys Valley and Hornitos. We are so excited about this new name and all the changes that go with it. We have a new website for Mariposa Ranch, it’s www.mariposaranch.co, once it is live, we encourage you to check it out and let us know what you think. And rememember, it’s .co, not .com!!
